This course provides training in the graphic design and advertising art fields. Instruction includes CD design, illustration, photography, computer graphics, advertising and poster layouts and hand lettering. This is a basic foundation course in the principles of two-dimensional design. Students are introduced to PhotoShop, Illustrator and Quark Xpress software. This course can be taken for one, two or three credits.
Fees: $35 per year.

This course provides advanced training in the advertising art, graphic design and media communication fields. Students utilize industry standard equipment such as Power MACs and Power PCs, computer software such as Quark, Illustrator and PhotoShop and digital cameras. Production design includes logos, letterheads, advertisements, packaging, product illustration and portfolio development.
Prerequisite: Graphic Design/Advertising art I and/or permission of the instructor or portfolio review. This course can be taken for one, two or three credits.
Fees: $35 per year

This serves as the capstone learning experience for students that have completed at least one year of CTE Career Preparation coursework. This course facilitates the transition from high school to post secondary education or the workforce by providing on-the-job training at various work sites. Students work throughout the year, at a minimum of 15 hours per week, and five hours per week class time. Classroom instruction covers leadership, pointers for job seeking and success, portfolio creation, college application tips, and topics and experiences related to each student's field of study. This is a Senior level course.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of one Career Preparation course or instructors approval.
Fees: $20 per semester
