SPECIAL CONCERNS:
NEW DISTRICT POLICIES ON
MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION IN PROCESS:
ALL MEDICATIONS MUST COME FROM
HOME WITH A GUARDIAN SIGNED DISTRICT MEDICATION FORM (available on line or in the office). I no longer will be allowed to give even Tylenol ,
Ibuprofen, Tums or cough drops without a signed medication sheet and the
medicine provided from home in the original container. Thank you for
understanding this change and I regret any inconvenience.
Remember to use sunscreen
and watch your children around water!
LICE: Please continue to check your
child’s head at least weekly for nits and lice. See the lice link
above. We have had multiple cases
surface already this year, in the K-4 classrooms.
As
mentioned farther below, please bring me a copy of any immunizations your
student receives!!
Concerned about MRSA? Teach your child good hand washing and be the example!
When
your daughter has a check-up, ask about the new HPV vaccine.
Be prepared: for the 8/08 school year
a Tdap and MCV vaccine will be required for all
students 6th grade 11years
or older (with a gradual phase starting with the sixth grade) as well
as the already required Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for K-4th
and 7-10th grades. Tdap is the tetanus/diphtheria booster with
pertussis added (given if last tetanus shot was five or more years ago).
MCV-4 is a new longer lasting
Meningococcal vaccine. Please bring a
copy of your shot record to the nurse after your child receives any
immunizations.
Donations of crackers, water bottles and gently used easy
fit children’s clothing are always appreciated.
I hope
you find the pages in my site useful in providing nursing information. Some of the pages will be updated on
a regular basis, and some will be changed only rarely.
It is my
goal to make this a communication tool for your use. I will do my best to keep it current.
