For your first quarter project you will be creating a “Cell Board Game using the information you have learned and will learn about cells.
Your project should include the following parts:
A unique name of the game;
Instructions/directions for the game;
An objective (“The object of the game is to…”);
Game pieces (not taken from other games…be creative!);
A dice or a spinner;
A path for players to travel;
Locations on the board to choose a picture card of various organelles, naming the organelle and its function;
Question cards of the information learned from the cell unit with the answers on the back of the card (Use your study guide for possible questions);
A box to contain your game (Make your box first and be sure to include your name and number on the outside of your game box.);
Any other ideas or features you can think of.
Your project will be graded upon the following criteria:
How well you followed the directions of the project. 10 points _____
The uniqueness of your ideas. 10 points _____
The creativity you used to make your game. 10 points _____
The amount of information you have presented in your game. 20 points _____
The accuracy of the information you have presented. 20 points _____
The neatness of your game (Take pride in your work!). 10 points _____
The clarity/clearness of your instructions/directions. 10 points _____
Presentation of your board game to the class. 10 points _____
General information:
You may choose ONE partner to work with on this project or you may choose to work alone. If you choose to work with a partner you will both received the same grade.
BONUS: You could be awarded with a bonus (5 extra points) if your project is selected to be the “Most Fun to Play,” “Most Challenging,” or “Most Creative.”
Your project will be worth 100 points. Board games that are turned in late will not be accepted…no ifs, ands, or buts about it! Do not, I repeat, do not wait until the last possible moment to start your project. This is your project, therefore, your responsibility. Take pride in your work and show me how brilliant and creative you can be!
