1. Who do I contact if I have questions about an online course?
Each course is assigned a course facilitator. The name of the facilitator is located on each course homepage and the Read Me First page.

2. When can I work on the online courses?
Online courses are available 24 hours a day. They must be completed before or after school hours.

3. Do I need to register for each course?
No. You can start and stop courses at your leisure.

4. Do I need to be on the SUSD network?

Most courses can be completed anywhere you have Internet access. However, there are a few courses that you will need to be on the SUSD network in order to complete. The Overview page of each online course details the Requirements needed to complete each course.

5.What if I don't finish a course? Can I go back in and continue to work on the course?

Yes! All courses are self-paced and can be started and stopped at your leisure. Use the next | previous links in the course lessons to easily navigate to the spot in which you would like to resume the course.

6. What do I need in order to complete an online course?
Each course has a Read Me First page which will describe what you need to do to complete that specific course.

7. How do you know if I really completed the course?
Each course requires participants to submit an assessment for each lesson you want credit for. When you are finished with the course sessions, YOU MUST submit the ONLINE COMPLETION FORM. This sends important information needed to submit your professional development hours.

8. Can I receive staff development, Career Ladder-A, or SIP credit for completing an online course?
Yes, you can receive staff development, Career Ladder-A, or a combination of the two for completing an online course.

School Improvement Plan hours are dependent on your school's SIP requirements. Check with your site SIP team to check eligibility.

9. What if I finish sooner or take longer than the number of hours specified for each course?
The length of each course will undoubtedly vary between participants. The listed time is the average length it should take a person to complete the course. You will receive the hours listed in the Course Overview regardless of how long it takes individuals to complete the course.

9. When do I have to complete the courses by?
Online course assessments must be submitted by May 15, 2009 in order to receive credit for the 2008-2009 school year.

Online courses credit for the 2009-2010 school year can be earned starting June 1, 2009.

10. How do I receive my professional development hours once I complete the course?
The first thing you have to do is submit your assessment(s) to the course facilitator.

Once you have submitted the assessment(s), you must submit the Online Completion form located on the course site.

11. When are my hours submitted to professional development?
The course facilitator will submit professional development hours at the end of each month. You will receive a confirmation email stating that the hours have been sent to the professional development office.

12. How do I know when my hours have been posted to my professional development report?
It typically takes a few weeks from the time the course facilitator submits your hours until the time it posts to your professional development report. Your school's secretary can run a PD report.

13. Are the online courses available over the summer?
The status of the online courses over the summer has yet to be determined.
