Welcome to Mohave's web site. I am glad you have taken the time to visit my web pages. The intent is to make our school more accessible and to better meet the overall educational needs of your student by giving you as much information as we can. I am pleased to report that you can check the teacher's web pages to get information on current assignments as well as your student's grades. We have listened to you!
In addition to accessing our teacher's web pages, you can check to see how your student performed on the quarterly benchmark tests (Galileo). Follow the link called "Our Community" from Mohave's home page to find out more.
One of my goals this year is to continue to help teachers focus on the diverse academic needs of the students in their classrooms and help them use the benchmark data to make instructional decisions about what and how they teach. Mohave teachers worked hard last year and tried some new things in their classrooms in a commitment to continuous improvement. By communicating high expectations and being supportive, I believe we can continue to improve at meeting the needs of our students. I do not believe in the philosophy of "One thing, one way, for all kids." I know our teachers will rise to the challenge.
Parents can help us meet our goal of increased attendance this year by making sure their kids get to school, and by avoiding scheduling appointments that take away large chunks of the instructional day. If it is necessary for you to schedule and appointment during the day, please make them as early, or as late in the day as you can!
