Participation Rules
- All
students are welcome to audition.
Performances will be evaluated for appropriateness, quality, and
duration (no longer than 3:00 minutes).
You will need to submit lyrics for any music (vocal or background)
in order for us to judge the appropriateness of the content of the
selected song. Students will be
given feedback at the first audition and may be asked to come back for a
second audition in order for us to select the best, most prepared
talent. There is NO guarantee that
if you are asked to come back for a second audition that you will be
chosen to perform the night of the show.
There will be volunteer opportunities for students who are not
selected or who want to participate but not perform.
- Please
come prepared. If you are not
prepared for your audition, YOU WILL NOT BE SELECTED. Please visit the talent show link on the
Sequoya Website to see the complete requirements and helpful hints for
auditions/participation in the talent show. Be sure to bring either sheet music (an
accompanist will be available) or a recorded track (WITHOUT VOCALS – aka
karaoke track) to your audition.
Please see Mrs. Smith or the Sequoya Website link to see how you
can obtain either of these. There will
be coaching available to students needing help polishing and perfecting
their routines.
- If
you wish to participate in the talent show, you must be available to
rehearse after school on Wednesday, February 27th and Thursday,
February 28th. We need
to make sure that the technical aspects of the show will run smoothly and
we need all performers to be there.
Additionally, we will be rehearsing the finale at these rehearsals.
- All
performers must stay for the entire show and the finale. If you are unable to do so, you will be
asked not to participate.
